한국에너지기술연구원의 곽지혜 박사님께서 "CIGS-based thin film solar cells for space application"에 관한 강연을 해 주실 예정입니다. 강연은 한국어로 진행되며, 초록은 아래에 나타나있습니다.

There will be an Astronomy and Space Science seminar on 04/25, 4:30 PM, in the Auditorium, Kyung Hee University Astronomical Observatory.
Dr. Jihye Gwak of Photovoltaic Laboratory, Korea Institute of Energy Research will give a presentation about "CIGS-based thin film solar cells for space application".
The language of the seminar will be Korean and abstract is shown below.

CuIn1xGaxSe2 (CIGS) compound thin film solar cells exhibiting a record efficiency 22.6% at the laboratory level have attracted interest from many research groups and industry worldwide as the CIGS absorber material can produce high conversion efficiency without material degradation for widely used electricity generation and be used on flexible substrates for various applications [1].
CIGS thin-film solar cells are also considered as competitive candidates for future space power generators compared to traditional crystalline solar cells as they have the advantages for usage in space, including low mass and storage volume, high power/mass ratio, high radiation resistance against proton and electron radiation and lower production costs [2].
Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER) has been engaged in the research and development of thin-film CIGS photovoltaic technology for over 20 years, and achieved 20% of the solar cell conversion efficiency under AM1.5 condition using rigid glass substrates. KIER just started studying on CIGS-based thin-film solar cells for space use based on know-hows and technologies obtained for terrestrial photovoltaic systems. KIER’s research activities on compound thin-film solar cells for space application will be introduced including proton and electron irradiation studies on CIGS as well as Cu2ZnSnSe4 (CZTSe) solar cells fabricated based on co-evaporation processes.
